The rise of technology has revolutionized many aspects of society, but it has also given rise to complex and emerging forms of crime that challenge legal frameworks and enforcement mechanisms worldwide. Crimes such as technology-facilitated sexual violence and abuse (TFSVA), cybersecurity crimes, cryptocurrency-related digital economic crimes, and AI-enabled crimes are increasing rapidly, making it more difficult for law enforcement and legal systems to respond effectively.

The International Conference on Crimes of the Digital Age: Anticipation and Response will be held on February 27-28, 2025, in Kathmandu, Nepal (venue to be confirmed). The working language of the conference will be English, and the event is organized by the Office of the Attorney General of Nepal.

In today’s interconnected world, technology-driven crimes are inherently borderless, unfolding within a virtual realm, and challenging geographic boundaries. Addressing this complex landscape requires not only skilled prosecutors and investigators but also a coordinated global response to confront the unique challenges posed by these digital threats. A unified network of solidarity among nations, along with harmonized legal frameworks, is essential to bridge differences in jurisdiction and enforcement. This international conference provides a vital platform for experts to explore emerging trends, collaborate on aligning legal standards, and enhance global solidarity.
